Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities were once again subjected to a massive aerial assault last night, marking the continuation of a relentless campaign of Russian drone and missile strikes. Ukrainian military data reveals a consistent pattern of bombardment, with hundreds of projectiles launched in recent weeks, particularly since June 1st.

The latest attack saw 415 drones and missiles launched, according to the Ukraine Air Force. Of these, 397 were drones. Ukrainian air defenses successfully intercepted 178, while an additional 204 were either lost or suppressed by electronic warfare systems, demonstrating the ongoing efforts to counter the aerial threat.

Analysts from the Institute for the Study of War note that Russia is increasingly deploying decoy drones to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. Furthermore, concerns are rising over reports that Russian forces are equipping both decoy and strike drones with warheads, aiming to inflict widespread damage, often disproportionately affecting civilian areas.
