Amid a surge in phone thefts, Samsung is strongly advising Galaxy smartphone users to immediately activate the advanced anti-theft features recently introduced with the One UI 7 update. These critical security enhancements are designed to safeguard user data and maintain control over devices, even in high-risk situations.

The newly available suite includes several layers of protection: Theft Detection Lock, which instantly locks your screen upon detecting suspicious motions like snatching; Offline Device Lock, securing your device if it remains out of network coverage for an extended period; and Remote Lock, allowing you to remotely lock down a stolen device with just your mobile number and a quick verification.

Further bolstering security, Identity Check requires biometric verification for any changes to sensitive security settings when your phone is in an unfamiliar location. This is complemented by the Security Delay feature, which triggers a one-hour waiting period if someone attempts to reset your biometrics.

To enable these vital protections, navigate to Settings > Security and privacy > Lost device protection > Theft protection on your device. These features are currently available for Galaxy S25, S24, S23, S22 series, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5 in the US, Canada, and UK, with broader rollout to other One UI 7-compatible devices anticipated soon.
