The English Premier League has announced a significant five-year partnership with Microsoft, set to revolutionize the fan experience through advanced artificial intelligence. The new agreement will see Microsoft’s Copilot AI integrated directly into the official Premier League app, providing fans with unprecedented access to an extensive archive of over 300,000 articles, 9,000 videos, and comprehensive statistics dating back to the league’s inception in 1992.

This strategic collaboration aims to deliver personalized content and real-time match insights, as stated by Premier League CEO Richard Masters. Future enhancements are expected to include multi-language translation for both text and audio, alongside improvements to the popular Fantasy Premier League offerings. Microsoft, now also the league’s cloud computing partner, will leverage its secure cloud and AI technologies, including Azure AI Foundry Services with Azure OpenAI, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and Dynamics 365, to transform how football is experienced both on and off the pitch.

While financial terms remain undisclosed, the partnership underscores the Premier League’s commitment to innovation as it prepares for the upcoming season, which kicks off on August 15, following the Premier League Summer Series friendly matches from July 26 to August 3 in the U.S.
