Recent Israeli strikes across Gaza have resulted in the deaths of at least 81 Palestinians and left over 400 injured within a 24-hour period, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The devastating toll includes a strike near a Gaza City stadium, which was housing displaced people in tents, where at least 11 individuals, including children, were killed. Verified footage shows civilians desperately digging through sand to find bodies.

The Israeli military has stated it was unaware of civilian casualties in some incidents, claiming targets were suspicious individuals posing threats to their forces. However, witnesses recount horrific scenes, with one describing a sudden, massive explosion that buried tents and residents under sand, emphasizing the civilian nature of the victims.

Further reports detail additional fatalities, including three children and their parents killed in a strike on an apartment block and tent in the al-Mawasi area, and at least eight people, including five children, dead after an air strike near Jaffa School in the Tuffah neighbourhood, where hundreds of displaced Gazans were sheltering. Ambulance and civil defence crews face immense difficulties reaching victims due to restricted movement in affected areas.

Meanwhile, efforts to broker a ceasefire and hostage release deal remain stalled despite intensified mediation. A rally in Tel Aviv on Saturday evening called for an immediate end to the fighting and the return of all remaining Israeli hostages held in Gaza.
