Breaking: Norway Crown Princess’s Son Charged with Rape, Sexual Assault in Major Case

Oslo police have officially announced charges against Marius Borg Høiby, the eldest son of Norway’s Crown Princess Mette-Marit, following a months-long investigation. The charges include multiple counts of rape, sexual assault, and bodily harm, stemming from a case involving a “double-digit” number of alleged victims.
Høiby, the stepson of Crown Prince Haakon, has been under intense scrutiny since repeated arrests in 2024 related to allegations of rape and preliminary charges of bodily harm. Police attorney Andreas Kruszewski confirmed that Høiby has cooperated fully with questioning, and evidence was gathered from various sources, including text messages, witness testimonies, and police searches.
The specific charges detailed by Kruszewski at a news conference include one case of rape involving intercourse, two cases of rape without intercourse, four cases of sexual assault, and two cases of bodily harm. Kruszewski refrained from disclosing the exact number of victims beyond confirming it is a double-digit figure.
Defense attorney Petar Sekulic stated via email that while Høiby takes the accusations very seriously, he denies wrongdoing in most of the cases, particularly those concerning sexual abuse and violence. The royal palace has yet to issue a statement regarding the charges. Høiby, 28, who previously resided with the royal couple, now lives separately nearby and remains free pending a potential trial, maintaining his right to the presumption of innocence.
