Get ready, Pokémon Go trainers! The Pokémon World Championships 2024 are splashing onto your mobile devices with an exciting in-game event.

From August 16th (10 a.m. PDT) to August 20th (8 p.m. PDT), celebrate the Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, with a special tie-in featuring a brand-new costumed Pikachu.

This adorable snorkeling Pikachu will be available through Field Research tasks and one-star Raids. But that’s not all! Embrace the Hawaiian spirit with new avatar items including a Bucket Hat and Aloha Shirt, available in the in-game shop. Show off your moves with the new Ukulele Pose!

Even more exciting: an exclusive blue avatar shirt featuring the snorkeling Pikachu will be available to attendees of the World Championships in Honolulu. Everyone else can snag a white version using a distribution code revealed during a live stream on the first day of the Championships.

The Pokémon Go World Champion will receive an extra-special prize: a unique outfit complete with a snorkel mask and championship belt, plus a celebratory trophy pose.

The event isn’t just about collecting cute Pokémon. Get ready for Go Battle League action with Pokémon boasting special Featured Attacks, including Lickitung (Body Slam) and Mienfoo (High Jump Kick). Certain evolved Pokémon will also learn special moves.

Enjoy themed PokéStop Showcases, increased Special Trades (up to five per day), and a $5 Timed Research event in the shop.
