Tropical Storm Imelda is rapidly strengthening in the Atlantic, projected to reach Category 1 hurricane status today, Tuesday, September 30th, and further intensify to a Category 2 hurricane by Wednesday evening as it nears Bermuda. While not expected to make landfall in the United States, Imelda continues to skirt the Southeast coast, bringing significant rainfall, high surf, and dangerous rip currents.
