Macron Condemns US Envoy Kushner’s Antisemitism Remarks as ‘Unacceptable’

French President Emmanuel Macron has sharply criticized US Ambassador Charles Kushner for publicly suggesting France has not done enough to combat antisemitism, labeling the comments a diplomatic misstep.

In an interview with CBS’s Face the Nation aired Sunday, Macron stated, “I think this is a mistake and an unacceptable statement for somebody who is supposed to be a diplomat.” He emphasized the importance of adhering to diplomatic protocols, adding, “If you are a diplomat, you have to follow the rule of diplomacy.”
