A suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting incident at the Sacramento ABC affiliate KXTV (ABC10) station. Police confirmed the arrest of Anibal Hernandezsantana, 64, of Sacramento, on Saturday, following the Friday afternoon shooting.

Hernandezsantana faces charges including assault with a deadly weapon, shooting into an occupied building, and negligent discharge of a firearm. The motive behind the attack, which saw at least three gunshots fired at the building’s lobby from a passing vehicle, remains under active investigation by Sacramento police.

Authorities responded to reports of shots fired shortly after 1:30 PM on Friday. Although a person was present in the lobby at the time, no injuries were reported. Police were able to identify the vehicle involved, leading to Hernandezsantana’s arrest at a Sacramento residence.

The shooting occurred a day after a protest was held outside the station, reportedly linked to the network’s suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live! ABC10 owner Tegna has stated full cooperation with law enforcement and has implemented additional safety measures for its employees. Hernandezsantana is currently being booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail.
