UK PM Condemns Elon Musk’s Incendiary Remarks at London Anti-Immigration Protest

Prime Minister Keir Starmer has strongly condemned what he called “dangerous” comments made by Elon Musk at a large anti-immigration rally in London this past Saturday. Musk, speaking via video link to the “Unite the Kingdom” demonstration led by far-right campaigner Tommy Robinson, asserted that “violence is coming to Britain” and urged attendees to “fight back or you die.”
The rally, held on September 13, 2025, saw significant unrest, with police reporting 26 officers injured, four seriously, as protesters attempted to breach lines separating them from a counter-demonstration. Twenty-five arrests were made on the day, with authorities indicating more are expected.
Musk’s address also included calls for the dissolution of Parliament and an early election to remove Starmer’s center-left government. Starmer’s spokesman, Dave Pares, dismissed Musk’s rhetoric, stating, “The U.K. is a fair, tolerant and decent country, so the last thing that British people want is dangerous and inflammatory language which threatens violence and intimidation on our streets.”
Liberal Democrat leader Ed Davey joined the condemnation, urging Starmer and Conservative opposition leader Kemi Badenoch to consider sanctions against Musk for his attempts to “sow discord and incite violence on our streets” and interfere with British democracy. Despite these calls, Starmer’s spokesman confirmed no plans to engage directly with Musk regarding his comments.
The demonstration comes amid heightened political tensions surrounding unauthorized immigration, particularly the arrival of migrants across the English Channel. The event also highlighted the complex symbolism of the St. George flag, which, while a symbol of national pride, has increasingly been appropriated by anti-immigration and far-right groups.
