The body of prominent conservative activist Charlie Kirk was flown to Arizona on Thursday, September 11, 2025, aboard Air Force Two, the vice president’s plane, following his fatal shooting in Utah a day earlier. Vice President JD Vance was seen helping carry Kirk’s casket on a Salt Lake City tarmac before the flight to Phoenix, where Kirk resided with his family.

Kirk, 31, was tragically killed Wednesday afternoon while speaking at an outdoor debate at Utah Valley University. Authorities have not yet identified a suspect, and the investigation into the high-profile murder is ongoing.

Officials confirmed that Kirk’s family and friends accompanied Vice President Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance on the somber journey. The vice president had previously praised Kirk’s significant contributions to conservative organizing and the Trump administration, noting his instrumental role in staffing and campaign efforts.

Kirk is survived by his wife, Erika, and their two young children. His death has sent shockwaves through the conservative movement and prompted a nationwide search for the perpetrator.
