Breaking: Multiple Students Injured in Evergreen High School Shooting, Suspect Neutralized

A shooting at Evergreen High School in Jefferson County, Colorado, on Wednesday afternoon has left at least four students injured, according to officials. The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the incident, stating that students were en route to the hospital following the report received around 12:24 p.m. local time.
Authorities have confirmed that the suspect involved in the shooting has been engaged and neutralized. While a campus-wide sweep is underway, the school is no longer under lockdown. Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Jacki Kelley described the event as ‘the scariest thing you’d think could ever happen.’
Three of the injured students are in critical condition and are being transported to St. Anthony Hospital, with a fourth student also transported for an unknown injury. Investigators believe the shooter is among the injured students. Federal agencies, including the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the Denver FBI, are responding to the scene to assist local law enforcement.
Hundreds of police officers are currently on campus, meticulously searching each room. Parents seeking to reunite with their children are directed to Bergen Meadow Elementary. Jefferson County has a tragic history with school violence, having been the site of the Columbine school shooting in 1999.
