SpaceX is on track for its 10th full-scale Starship test flight, with launch approval now secured from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The colossal rocket is slated for liftoff no earlier than next Sunday, August 24, at 6:30 PM local Texas time (23:30 UTC).

Final preparations are underway at the Starbase launch site in South Texas. Engineers recently completed a crucial ‘spin prime’ test of the propulsion system, followed by inspections and last-minute heat shield touch-ups before the 403-foot-tall Starship and its Super Heavy booster are rolled out for flight.

This upcoming test is critical for SpaceX, following a challenging streak of five setbacks in 2025, including four disappointing test flights and a ground test explosion. The company aims to overcome these hurdles and advance key program milestones, such as successful upper-stage recovery and orbital refueling demonstrations – capabilities vital for future lunar and Martian missions.
