President Trump is poised to announce a significant peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the White House this Friday, sources close to the matter have confirmed. This highly anticipated pact aims to resolve decades of simmering tensions between the two former Soviet republics.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are expected to attend the historic event in the Oval Office and State Dining Room. This marks the first direct agreement signed by the two heads of state, underscoring renewed U.S. efforts to deepen ties in the region, particularly focusing on energy production and transit.

A key component of the deal includes Armenia’s intention to grant U.S. development rights for a 43-kilometer transit corridor, to be named the ‘Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.’ This route is designed to enhance Western access and trade.

U.S. officials have been diligently working on this breakthrough for months, following a period of renewed conflict in 2023 and a subsequent ceasefire in September 2023. While talks had stalled after a peace treaty conclusion in March and a failed breakthrough in July, this upcoming announcement signals a major diplomatic success.

The agreement is also expected to open new critical routes for goods to travel to the West, bypassing both Russia and Iran. While sources indicate entry into the Abraham Accords is not expected immediately, the deal aligns with broader U.S. strategic interests in expanding peace initiatives.
