Five soldiers were injured in an active shooter incident at Fort Stewart in Georgia on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, when they were shot by a fellow service member. The incident, which took place in the 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team area, was reported at 10:56 a.m. local time.

Authorities swiftly responded, apprehending the male soldier suspect by 11:35 a.m. Base officials have confirmed that there is no longer an active threat to the community. No fatalities were reported, though the exact conditions of the injured soldiers were not immediately clear. Two of the victims were transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, a Level 1 trauma center.
