During a working visit to Scotland on Monday, President Donald Trump addressed questions regarding a potential pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell and offered new details about his fractured relationship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Trump stated he has not been formally asked for a pardon for Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for sex trafficking, but notably did not rule out the possibility. His comments follow reports that Maxwell recently met with Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, reportedly initiating the discussions and being granted limited immunity.

The President also elaborated on his falling out with Epstein, claiming he severed ties after Epstein repeatedly ‘stole’ his employees despite warnings. “I threw him out and that was it. I’m glad I did, if you want to know the truth,” Trump said, without specifying the incidents.

Trump reiterated his denial of ever visiting Epstein’s private island and dismissed a Wall Street Journal report alleging he sent Epstein a drawing of a naked woman in 2003, which he is suing the publication over. He continues to label the broader Epstein controversy a “hoax” perpetrated by political adversaries.
