A tragic shooting incident at Or Tor Kor Market in Bangkok’s Bang Sue district has left five people dead and one wounded. The Royal Thai Police confirmed the fatalities occurred on Monday afternoon, with all five deceased identified as security guards at the market.

Authorities report that the suspected perpetrator took his own life at the scene. Deputy Police Chief Worapat Sukthai stated that investigators are actively working to determine the motive behind what has been described as a mass shooting. Police are also pursuing leads to identify the suspect and explore any potential connections to the ongoing border clashes between Thailand and Cambodia.

Surveillance footage reportedly captured the shooter wearing a black T-shirt, cap, camouflage shorts, and a backpack. The incident underscores concerns about gun violence, which, while relatively common in Thailand compared to other Southeast Asian nations, rarely reaches this scale.
