Kerr County, Texas – The number of individuals reported missing following the devastating July 4 floods in Texas has dramatically decreased from nearly 100 to just three in hard-hit Kerr County. Officials announced Saturday that extensive follow-up work by state and local agencies confirmed many initially listed as missing were alive and safe, bringing a significant update to the ongoing crisis.

The catastrophic floods, which struck earlier this month, left a trail of destruction, including debris scattered across areas like Louise Hays Park in Kerrville. At its peak, over 160 people were unaccounted for in Kerr County alone. Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice expressed profound gratitude for the tireless efforts of over 1,000 local, state, and federal authorities whose work led to this reduction.

While Kerr County now reports only three missing, three more individuals remain unaccounted for in Travis County and one in Burnet County. The statewide death toll from the July 4 flooding has climbed to 134, with 107 of those fatalities, including 70 adults and 37 children, confirmed in Kerr County.
