New leaks suggest that Google is preparing to unveil a new line of budget-friendly earbuds, the Pixel Buds 2a, alongside the highly anticipated Pixel 10 smartphone lineup in mid-August. This marks the first explicit leak regarding the existence of the Pixel Buds 2a, indicating an imminent refresh for Google’s affordable audio offerings.

Renowned leaker @MysteryLupin, known for a solid track record, claims the Pixel Buds 2a will be available in vibrant new colors: Hazel, Strawberry, Iris, and Fog Light. Given that the Pixel Buds A-Series debuted in June 2021, a refresh for Google’s budget earbuds is long overdue. Industry observers hope the new model will address current shortcomings, such as the lack of Advanced Noise Cancellation (ANC) and multipoint connectivity, while also improving battery life to compete in today’s competitive market.

In related news, the same leaker also suggests a new Sterling (light gray) color option for the flagship Pixel Buds Pro 2. These premium earbuds, which originally launched in August 2024 with the Pixel 9 series, are reportedly getting this new variant to mark their first anniversary. With the Pixel 10 and Pixel Buds 2a expected to debut around August 20, more details are anticipated to surface soon.
