Tech mogul Elon Musk has reignited his political activism, issuing a stark warning that he will form a new political party if a controversial “Big, Beautiful Bill” currently debated in the Senate passes. His threats came on Monday, just days before the current date of July 1, 2025, as the Senate prepared for a final vote on the legislation.

Musk, known for his outspoken views on social media platform X, condemned members of Congress who campaigned on fiscal responsibility but are now poised to approve what he calls the “biggest debt increase in history.” He vowed to support primary challengers against such politicians in the next election cycle, stating, “And they will lose their primary next year if it is the last thing I do on this Earth.”

Hours later, Musk escalated his stance, declaring that the “America Party” would be formed the day after the “insane spending bill passes.” He argued that the country desperately needs an alternative to the “Democrat-Republican uniparty” to give citizens a true voice, criticizing the proposed record $5 trillion increase in the debt ceiling as evidence of a “Porky Pig Party” in Washington.

This latest political foray follows weeks of public sparring between Musk and the Trump administration over the domestic policy bill. While he previously supported President Trump and Republican candidates in the 2024 election, contributing over $275 million, Musk has recently voiced strong opposition to the bill, labeling it “debt slavery.”

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) estimated on Sunday that the Senate’s version of the bill would add nearly $3.3 trillion to the deficit over the next decade, more than the House-approved bill. Despite the White House’s claims that the bill slashes deficits and boosts economic growth, Musk maintains it disproportionately benefits “industries of the past” while harming future-oriented sectors, despite denying his opposition is due to cuts in electric vehicle and solar energy subsidies.
