President Donald Trump and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer today finalized a landmark science and technology partnership, announcing investments totaling $204 billion across the Atlantic and projecting the creation of 15,000 jobs over the next decade. The significant agreement, a highlight of Trump’s two-day state visit to the UK, also includes a deal to build advanced nuclear reactors in Britain.

The leaders held a press conference at Chequers, the Prime Minister’s country residence, on September 18, 2025, marking the conclusion of Trump’s historic second state visit. President Trump highlighted the partnership’s focus on technological innovation, stating, “We’re taking the next logical step with a historic agreement on science and technology partnerships, and this will create new government, academic and private sector cooperation in areas such as AI, which is taking over the world.”

Prime Minister Starmer detailed that the $204 billion investment would come from a consortium of major American companies including Microsoft, Citigroup, Boeing, Amazon, and Blackstone, alongside British giants such as BP, GSK, Rolls Royce, and AstraZeneca.

The visit saw President Trump hosted by the Royal Family at Windsor Castle on September 17, where he was greeted by King Charles III and Queen Camilla. The President and First Lady Melania Trump also laid a wreath on the tomb of Queen Elizabeth II and attended a state banquet with prominent business leaders.

During their bilateral meeting, Trump and Starmer reportedly discussed pressing global issues, including Russia’s ongoing invasion of Ukraine, its threat to NATO’s eastern flank, and the expanding conflict in Gaza. Meanwhile, thousands gathered in central London on Wednesday to protest Trump’s visit, carrying anti-Trump signs and Palestinian flags. The President and First Lady departed London just after 5 p.m. local time, concluding a busy and impactful state visit.
