Guest Dies After Incident on Epic Universe Roller Coaster, Investigation Underway
A visitor to Universal Orlando’s recently opened Epic Universe theme park died Wednesday night after becoming unresponsive on the ‘Stardust Racers’ roller coaster. Authorities and Universal confirmed the man, in his thirties, was transported to a hospital where he later passed away.
A Universal spokesperson expressed devastation over the “tragic event” and extended sympathies to the guest’s loved ones, confirming the company is fully cooperating with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office in the ongoing investigation. The ‘Stardust Racers’ ride remains closed following the incident.
Epic Universe, which opened just before Memorial Day weekend, is Universal’s first major theme park in Florida in over 25 years.
