Los Angeles police are investigating two grim discoveries after human remains were found in two separate vehicles at local tow yards this week. The first, and most high-profile, discovery occurred on Monday, September 8, 2025, when a foul odor led to the finding of a woman’s decomposing remains in the front trunk of a Tesla at Hollywood Tow on Mansfield Avenue.

The Tesla, which had a Texas license plate and was towed from the upscale Bird Streets neighborhood, is reportedly registered to musician David Anthony Burke, known by his stage name D4vd. The discovery of a ‘head and torso’ in a bag within the vehicle has initiated a death investigation. D4vd, a TikTok sensation with millions of followers, was scheduled to perform in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

In a seemingly unrelated incident on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, a second woman’s partially burned body was discovered inside a Honda Civic at a different tow yard. This vehicle had been towed on August 25 and is connected to a missing person report, with authorities confirming it as a separate investigation.
