Berkshire Hathaway, led by legendary investor Warren Buffett, has unveiled its second-quarter 2025 stock portfolio in its latest 13F filing, revealing significant new holdings and major reductions. The highly anticipated update, released this Thursday, offers a glimpse into Buffett’s final investment moves as he approaches his year-end retirement.

The most notable new addition is a substantial stake in healthcare giant UnitedHealth, with Berkshire scooping up over 5 million shares worth $1.6 billion by the end of June. This move comes as UnitedHealth’s stock experienced a significant dip earlier in the year following the December 2024 shooting death of its CEO, Brian Thompson, suggesting a potential value play by Buffett or his investment managers.

Beyond healthcare, Berkshire also disclosed new positions in homebuilders DR Horton and Lennar, steel producer Nucor, Lamar Advertising, and Allegion. These new stakes were previously kept confidential as Berkshire actively built its positions.

Conversely, the conglomerate continued to pare down its long-held top positions. Berkshire reduced its Apple holding by another 7%, bringing its total shares to 280 million, valued at $57 billion at the end of June. This marks a divestment of more than two-thirds of its Apple stake since the beginning of 2024. Bank of America, a longtime Buffett favorite, also saw a reduction, and T-Mobile US was exited entirely.

The latest filing underscores Berkshire’s ongoing trend of being a net seller of stocks for 11 consecutive quarters, contributing to its soaring cash pile, which now stands at an unprecedented $344 billion.
