WHO Condemns Israeli Attacks on Gaza Facilities Amid Deepening Humanitarian Crisis

The World Health Organization (WHO) has vehemently condemned recent Israeli attacks on its facilities in central Gaza, warning that the ongoing offensive is severely compromising vital humanitarian efforts. The UN agency reported that its staff residence in Deir al-Balah was repeatedly attacked, leading to the detention and mistreatment of personnel, with one staff member reportedly still held by Israeli forces. Furthermore, the WHO’s main warehouse in the city was allegedly destroyed in an attack, crippling aid distribution.

UN officials have expressed grave concerns over widespread hunger and the breakdown of essential services, with residents describing Gaza as ‘a place of death, hunger, and exhaustion.’ The UN human rights chief warned of ‘unlawful killings and other serious violations of international humanitarian law,’ underscoring the dire and worsening catastrophe.
