Apple is poised to release the highly anticipated public beta for iOS 26 this week, according to reliable reports from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Gurman’s ‘Power On’ newsletter today indicated that the release is imminent, with a social media post from last week pinpointing Wednesday, July 23, as a likely target.

This widespread rollout will also include public betas for iPadOS 26, macOS 26, tvOS 26, watchOS 26, and HomePod software 26. Notably, Apple plans to offer a public beta for its next major AirPods firmware update for the first time, though a visionOS 26 public beta will not be available.

Users can sign up for the free Apple Beta Software Program to access these previews. As always, it is strongly recommended to back up devices before installing any beta software due to potential issues.

While developer betas are already available (no longer requiring a $99 annual fee, only an Apple Developer account), the public betas are designed for broader testing. Looking ahead, initial rumors suggest Apple will soon begin formal development on iOS 27, with a focus on features tailored for a rumored foldable iPhone expected next year.
