Manhunt Underway for Gunman After Car Plows into Crowd Outside Hollywood Club, Injuring Dozens

Los Angeles Police are intensifying their search for a gunman who shot the driver of a vehicle that intentionally plowed into a crowd outside a popular East Hollywood music venue early Saturday, injuring approximately 30 people. The shooter remains at large, with LAPD officials stating on Sunday that the suspect, last seen wearing a blue jersey and possibly armed with a silver revolver, fled west on Vermont Avenue.
The chaotic incident unfolded after 29-year-old Fernando Ramirez, who had been ejected from the Vermont Hollywood club, returned to the area in his vehicle around 2 a.m. His car struck numerous street vendors and late-night clubgoers, causing multiple injuries, including seven critically. As bystanders pulled Ramirez from his vehicle and attacked him, another individual emerged from across the street and shot the driver in the buttocks. Ramirez, who is recovering from surgery and in stable condition, is expected to face several felony charges.
Amidst the ongoing investigation, the Vermont Hollywood club canceled its scheduled Saturday show, citing the “unfortunate accident” and expressing deep sadness over the incident. LAPD Capt. Ben Fernandes remarked that given the scale, it was a miracle the event did not escalate into a mass casualty incident.
