One person has died and two individuals remain missing after a group of six people were tragically swept over a waterfall in Oregon on Saturday afternoon. Authorities from the Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the fatality and ongoing search efforts.

Emergency responders successfully rescued three people from the Deschutes River, who were subsequently transported to a local hospital for treatment. However, one person was pronounced dead at the scene near Dillon Falls.

Search operations, which were paused overnight, are set to resume on Sunday to locate the two missing individuals. Drones were deployed by emergency teams in the initial search near Dillon Falls, known for its challenging 15-foot drop that transforms into turbulent, ‘churning rapids’ according to local tourism information.
