The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has acknowledged killing two Palestinian men and burying their bodies with a bulldozer, following the release of a video by Al Jazeera purporting to show the incident. The IDF stated that the men approached an “operational area” in central Gaza “in a suspicious manner” and failed to respond to a warning shot. They were subsequently killed and their bodies bulldozed due to fears they might carry explosives.

The heavily edited video, filmed from a distance, shows two men walking separately along a Gaza beach, seemingly waving white flags. One man approaches soldiers with hands raised before disappearing from view. The second man turns away and is seen being followed by an Israeli armored vehicle before falling to the sand, apparently shot. The video then cuts to a bulldozer burying two bodies, which Al Jazeera claims are the same men, near Al Rasheed Street in central Gaza, a location confirmed by CNN’s geolocation.

The IDF disputes Al Jazeera’s narrative, claiming the edited video represents two separate incidents. In the first, a suspect in the southern part of the corridor was shot and slightly wounded after not responding to a warning, then released after medical treatment. The second incident in the northern part involved two suspects who were fired upon after approaching Israeli forces suspiciously.
