Andy Byron has resigned as CEO of software firm Astronomer, the company confirmed Saturday, following a viral video incident at a Coldplay concert earlier this week. The footage, which quickly amassed millions of views across social media platforms, showed Byron, who is married, in a seemingly compromising embrace with Kristin Cabot, Astronomer’s Chief People Officer, during the concert in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Wednesday.

The video captured Byron attempting to duck away as the camera focused on the pair, while Cabot turned her face away. Coldplay frontman Chris Martin even made a light-hearted comment about the interaction from the stage, inadvertently amplifying the moment.

Astronomer issued a statement on LinkedIn, emphasizing their commitment to company values and accountability, stating, “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.” Kristin Cabot has also been placed on indefinite leave as the company initiates an internal investigation into the matter, which has sparked widespread online discussion about corporate conduct and workplace relationships.
