Ukrainian forces successfully repelled a massive overnight drone and missile attack launched by Russia, shooting down 208 projectiles. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that over 300 strike drones and 30 missiles targeted cities, including Odesa, where one person was killed and six injured in a residential building.

The widespread aerial assault occurred between Friday and Saturday, with Ukrainian defenses actively engaged in target elimination as some drones reportedly remained airborne into Saturday. This latest barrage underscores the ongoing intensity of the conflict.

The attack follows the European Union’s recent adoption of its 18th package of sanctions against Russia, which includes a lower cap on Russian oil prices and measures to restrict Russian banks’ access to transactions, targeting ‘shadow fleet’ ships and banning Nord Stream pipeline-related transactions.
