As of mid-July 2025, Apple’s next-generation CarPlay Ultra is beginning to reach consumers, with Aston Martin owners in the United States and Canada having received the update starting in May. This advanced version of CarPlay, initially teased at WWDC 2022, promises a deeper integration with vehicle systems.

While the rollout commenced with Aston Martin, the broader adoption across other automakers remains a dynamic situation. Apple had previously indicated Porsche and Aston Martin would be among the first, though a January 2025 confirmation revealed initial delays. More recently, in May 2025, Apple announced the addition of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis to its list of committed partners for CarPlay Ultra.

However, the path to widespread integration hasn’t been without its challenges. Several prominent brands that were initially expected to support CarPlay Ultra have since withdrawn their plans. Mercedes-Benz reportedly abandoned its commitment last year, and reports from the Financial Times indicate Audi, Volvo, Polestar, and Renault have also decided against supporting the platform.

The current list of automakers planning to eventually support CarPlay Ultra, as of July 2025, includes: Acura, Aston Martin, Ford, Genesis, Honda, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Lincoln, Nissan, and Porsche. Consumers interested in CarPlay Ultra will need to monitor official announcements from Apple and individual automakers for the latest on availability and any further changes to the roster of supporting brands.
