Food service workers across Philadelphia, represented by Unite Here Local 274, have reached a significant tentative agreement with Aramark, securing crucial health insurance benefits for hundreds of employees. This landmark contract establishes a new minimum wage of $20 per hour, with plans to elevate all workers to $24 per hour by 2029, providing an immediate $6 per hour raise for the lowest-paid staff.

A key provision of the agreement ensures health insurance eligibility for employees working 180 days or 1,050 hours across the three South Philadelphia Sports Complex stadiums. Other highlights include total raises of $6.50 for non-tipped workers, guaranteeing a $24 per hour minimum by 2029, and immediate $20 per hour for tipped concessions workers with additional raises throughout the contract. The deal also includes eleven paid holidays and full retroactivity on wage increases back to 2023 and 2024 contract expirations. This comprehensive agreement will remain in effect through the 2026 World Cup, set to feature events at Lincoln Financial Field and the surrounding sports complex.
