State resources, including 14 helicopters, 12 drones, and nine rescue teams, totaling 400 to 500 personnel, have been deployed by the Texas Division of Emergency Management and other agencies to assist in recovery efforts.
The deluge, which saw over 12 inches of rain in a 12-hour period, sent the Guadalupe River near Hunt to its second-highest level on record. Areas like Hunt, Center Point, Kerrville, and Comfort have been severely impacted, with reports of homes destroyed and an RV park completely swept away. Kerr County Judge Rob Kelly described the event as “a very devastating and deadly flood,” urging residents near the river to evacuate.
