Google’s highly anticipated October security patch for Pixel phones is set to roll out today, October 8, for compatible devices. Ahead of the official release, Verizon has prematurely published the complete changelog, offering Pixel owners a detailed look at the imminent fixes.

The update, carrying the September 2025 security patch, includes build numbers BP3A.251005.004.B1 for the Pixel 7, 8, and 9 series, and BD3A.251005.003.W3 for the Pixel 10. While relatively minor, it addresses several critical issues.

Key user interface improvements across all Pixel phones include resolving a semi-transparent background issue after the camera launches and fixing system crashes when starting or stopping casting with the Media Output Switcher. Device-specific enhancements are also coming, with the Pixel 9 and 10 series receiving a fix for the flashlight status not appearing in the At a Glance widget. Pixel 7 users will benefit from a resolution to a display and graphics issue that caused screen flickering or shutdowns under certain conditions.

Despite some Pixel 10 users hoping for GPU performance improvements, this October update is largely focused on stability and minor bug fixes, with more substantial changes, including potential GPU driver updates, not expected until the Android 16 QPR2 Feature Drop in December.
