Taylor Swift’s latest album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl,’ has made an explosive debut, clinching the second-highest domestic first-day album sales in modern history. The album moved an astounding 2.7 million physical and digital copies on its opening day, marking the biggest week ever for the acclaimed singer-songwriter.

This massive success places ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ just behind Adele’s ’25,’ which holds the top spot with 3.378 million traditional album sales in the same timeframe, as reported by Billboard, citing Luminate data. Furthermore, Swift’s 12th studio album shattered another record, becoming the best-selling vinyl album in a single week with 1.2 million copies sold. This surpasses her own previous record of 859,000 vinyl units, set in 2024 with ‘The Tortured Poets Department.’

Adding to the excitement, Swift announced today the immediate release of eight bonus acoustic tracks. These new versions, featuring fresh vocals and production, will be spread across four limited-edition CD releases, available on her website for the next 24 hours only, while supplies last. Swift shared on Instagram that these acoustic surprises, recorded with Max and Shellback, were inspired by her favorite tour moments, promising fans an intimate new take on the album’s songs.
