Munich’s iconic Oktoberfest has been temporarily closed following a fatal fire, a bomb threat, and an ongoing police investigation. Authorities confirmed the popular beer festival venue was shut down as emergency services responded to an incident linked to an explosion and fire at a nearby house in northern Munich.

A man discovered badly injured near a lake subsequently died. Munich Mayor Dieter Reiter announced the festival site would remain closed until at least 17:00 local time (15:00 GMT) on Wednesday due to an unspecified bomb threat. A large-scale emergency operation is currently underway in the Lerchenau area of northern Munich, with police actively investigating potential connections to other locations, including the festival grounds.
