Tom Holland, star of the highly anticipated superhero film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” sustained a mild concussion on set this past Friday, leading to a temporary halt in production, Variety has confirmed.

As a precautionary measure, Holland will take a short break from filming, with expectations to return to the Glasgow set in a few days. Producers Sony and Marvel Studios are scheduled to convene today, Monday, to finalize plans for resuming the shoot. Thankfully, no other cast or crew members were injured during the incident.

Production for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” commenced in early August, marking Holland’s first return to the iconic Spidey suit since 2021’s “Spider-Man: No Way Home.” The film is slated for a July 31 release next year and features a star-studded cast including returning favorites Zendaya and Jacob Batalon, alongside new MCU additions like Liza Colon-Zayas, Tramell Tillman, Sadie Sink, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Michael Mando as the Scorpion.
