Nashua Country Club Shooting: Suspect Detained After Fatal Attack Leaves One Dead, Multiple Wounded

NASHUA, N.H. — A devastating shooting incident at the Sky Meadow Country Club in Nashua, New Hampshire, on Saturday has left one person dead and several others wounded. Authorities have confirmed that a suspect is in custody, and there is no further danger to the public.

New Hampshire Attorney General John Formella and Nashua Police Chief Kevin Rourke identified the deceased as an adult male. The suspect, also an adult male, was detained at the scene, dispelling earlier reports of multiple shooters. Investigators are actively working to determine the motive behind the tragic event, according to New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley.

Eyewitnesses described a chaotic and terrifying scene. Tom Bartelson, who was at the country club for a wedding, recounted hearing approximately six shots and witnessing widespread panic as people sought cover. Another individual, Evie O’Rourke, expressed deep concern while searching for her son, who was seen going down amidst the gunfire.

Emergency services responded rapidly to the scene. Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess voiced his confidence in law enforcement to thoroughly investigate and bring the perpetrator to justice, while U.S. Rep.
