The recent September 2025 Nintendo Direct has sent ripples through the gaming world, with preorders for new Switch 2 games, Amiibo, and even the console itself now live. Following an hour-long showcase of upcoming titles, fans can now reserve a host of exciting releases at Amazon and other retailers.

Among the biggest announcements were release date confirmations for highly anticipated games. The Super Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2 collection kicks off the release schedule on October 2, followed by Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, and Kirby Air Riders. The monumental Metroid Prime 4: Beyond is set to conclude Nintendo’s packed two-month launch window on December 4. Third-party titles like the timed-exclusive Hades II, published by Nintendo, also featured prominently.

For those eager to get their hands on Nintendo’s latest console, the Switch 2 Pokemon Legends: Z-A Bundle became available for preorder on Amazon on September 12, marking the first straightforward console purchase opportunity. While the Mario Kart World Bundle and standalone console still require an invite, the Pokemon Legends bundle offers a direct path to ownership.

Pricing for new Switch 2 exclusives appears to be settling at $70 for major titles like Metroid Prime 4 and Hyrule Warriors. Original Switch editions of games like Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond are priced at $60, with the Super Mario Galaxy collection for the original Switch also at $70, offering a free upgrade pack for Switch 2 owners.

The Direct also unveiled seven new Amiibo figures. Three dedicated to Metroid Prime 4, including a $40 Samus & Vi-O-La motorcycle figure and a $30 Samus Aran Amiibo launching November 6, alongside a Sylux Amiibo releasing with the game. Two Kirby Air Riders Amiibo, priced at $50 each (featuring Warp Star and Winged Star Machines), and two Super Mario Galaxy Amiibo (Mario and Rosalina, $40 each) are also on the way, though the Mario Galaxy figures won’t arrive until April 2026. These new figures join an existing lineup of Switch 2 Amiibo.
