Anticipation is soaring as the Powerball jackpot has swelled to an astounding $1.1 billion for tonight’s Labor Day drawing. After Saturday night’s drawing failed to yield a grand prize winner, the massive sum now stands as the fifth largest in the game’s history, offering a cash option of $498.4 million before taxes.

The current streak marks the 40th attempt to find a jackpot winner since May 31, 2025, nearing the record of 42 consecutive drawings. Lottery officials are highlighting the holiday timing, with Powerball Product Group Chair and Iowa Lottery CEO Matt Strawn stating, “What better time than Labor Day for a $1.1 billion Powerball drawing!”

While the top prize remained elusive on Saturday, nine fortunate tickets matched all five white balls to secure $1 million each across California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania. Additionally, three tickets in Colorado, Indiana, and New Hampshire doubled their winnings to $2 million by opting for the Power Play feature.

Winners have the choice of annual payments over 30 years, increasing by 5% annually, or the immediate cash payout. Tickets are available for $2 in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The odds of hitting the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. Drawings are held live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
