Google officially debuted its new Pixel Watch 4 on Wednesday, marking a significant upgrade to its smartwatch lineup. The latest wearable introduces groundbreaking features including standalone emergency satellite communication, an AI-powered personal health coach, and an impressive boost in battery life.
Key enhancements include a new Actua 360 domed display, offering a 10% larger active area and 16% smaller bezels for an edgeless appearance, alongside a 50% brighter, 3,000-nit screen. For the first time, the Pixel Watch 4 also features a replaceable battery and display, improving serviceability.
The LTE versions of the Pixel Watch 4 integrate standalone emergency satellite communications, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 2 Wearable Platform. AI capabilities extend to automatic workout detection and a new personal AI health coach, offering 24/7 personalized guidance based on watch metrics.
Battery life has been significantly improved, with the 41mm model now offering 30 hours and the 45mm reaching 40 hours, complemented by a new fast-charging dock. The watch also features a more powerful, next-gen ML-powered co-processor that’s 25% faster at half the power.
The Pixel Watch 4 is available for preorder today, with prices starting at $349 for the 41mm Wi-Fi model and $399 for the 45mm Wi-Fi model. LTE versions begin at $449 (41mm) and $499 (45mm). The device is set to hit shelves on October 9.
