Apple has officially rolled out iOS 26 Public Beta 2, delivering a range of refinements and minor feature enhancements to eager testers. This update, closely following the developer beta 5, primarily focuses on stability improvements and user experience tweaks as the full iOS 26 release approaches its expected September launch.

Beta participants can download the update by navigating to Settings > General > Software Update > iOS 26 Public Beta. While Apple has yet to publish official release notes, community feedback indicates this public beta largely mirrors the changes seen in the recent developer beta.

Notable additions and adjustments include a new “Classic Mode” toggle in the Camera app, allowing users to revert to the traditional scroll direction for mode switching. The Mail app now features a more prominent “Select” button, simplifying inbox management. Visual updates extend to a flatter AirDrop icon in the Share menu and an updated Fitness Plus icon within the Fitness app.

Other significant changes enhance usability across the system: the lock screen gains a subtle new animation, the Control Center now clearly indicates secured Wi-Fi networks with a lock icon, and the Home Screen dock features a wider Liquid Glass bar. Apple Card users will notice a new “Preauthorized Payments” label, while Siri gains predictive capabilities to assist with international travel. Furthermore, the Dynamic Island will now display a full-width low battery warning when your iPhone reaches 20% charge.

These updates highlight Apple’s focus on polishing iOS 26 ahead of its general release, aiming for a smoother and more intuitive experience for all users.
