Jimmy Hart Shares Heartbreaking Details of Hulk Hogan’s Final Days

The wrestling world is reeling from the sudden death of WWE icon Hulk Hogan, who passed away on Thursday at his Clearwater, Florida home at the age of 71. His longtime friend and former manager, Jimmy Hart, has expressed profound shock, revealing that Hogan appeared to be in good spirits and health just hours before his passing.

Speaking to People on Friday, Hart, known as “The Mouth of the South,” recounted his last interaction with Hogan, which occurred about a month ago. “He was great,” Hart stated. “He had great food to eat that night. He was talking with the fans. He was just phenomenal.”

Hart disclosed his disbelief upon learning of the wrestling legend’s death. “I called [Hogan] on Wednesday night, and then Thursday morning is when everything took place,” he explained. “So just…just overnight it all happened, but it was so positive the day before.”

Though Hart didn’t speak directly to Hogan during his Wednesday call, he received an encouraging message from Hogan’s assistant, stating the former six-time WWE Champion was “doing great.” Hart’s final words to the assistant were, “Well, tell him I love him,” a sentiment he believed would be received as good news.

“It just hits so fast,” Hart lamented about his reaction to the news. “It was like, ‘Oh my God.’ We thought he was doing so well, you know?” Hart confirmed that friends had avoided visiting Hogan to prevent any infections, making his sudden death even more unexpected. Their decades-long friendship spanned Hogan’s storied career from Memphis to WWE, WCW, and TNA.
